Lawmakers are considering SB 316 – an unfunded big government mandate that would undermine free market forces in health care. Leaders must reject this misguided bill that would dramatically increase health care costs for hardworking Nevada families, employers, and taxpayers – and bail out Big Pharma.

Lawmakers Must Oppose SB 316

Too many Nevada residents already struggle to afford their health care. More government intervention would take away the freedoms of a fair and open market that allow businesses to deliver health care coverage – further burdening Nevada employers, employees, and their families and taxpayers with higher costs and less freedoms. SB 316 would also disrupt access to medications for Nevada patients, including many of the most vulnerable who rely on specialty treatments, at-home delivery or other lower-cost pharmacy options – increasing health care costs.

SB 316 would increase government red tape for employers, making it harder for them to offer quality, affordable health benefits for their employees and their families including by banning performance-based contracts and lower-cost pharmacy options like mail delivery and specialty pharmacies.

SB 316 would hand Big Pharma a massive financial windfall at the expense of increased health care costs for Nevada employers, patients and families.
