Reject Disastrous Government Mandates

Lawmakers are considering unfunded big government mandates that would undermine free market forces in health care. Leaders must reject these misguided bills that would dramatically increase health care costs for hardworking Missouri families, employers and taxpayers.

Big government health care mandates introduced this year that would increase costs include:

  • SB 45
  • SB 372
  • SB 512
  • HB 474
  • HB 840

Lawmakers Must Oppose Government Mandates

Too many Missouri residents already struggle to afford their health care. More government intervention would take away the freedoms of a fair and open market that allow businesses to deliver health care coverage – further burdening Missouri employers, employees and their families and taxpayers with higher costs.

Missouri small businesses, workers and their families rely on affordable health care plan options. Misguided big government proposals would ban certain lower-cost pharmacy options in employer health care plans – making it harder for them to grow, compete and offer high-quality, affordable benefits. Proposed government mandates would also prevent employers across multiple state lines from being able to provide uniform health benefits, causing disruption to plan design and making it harder on Missouri employers.

Communities across Missouri rely on home delivery as a convenient, affordable way to get their prescriptions. New mandates would take choices away from patients by barring their employers from covering certain pharmacies, such as those that offer home delivery of prescriptions at a lower cost.

Say NO to Government Mandates

Reject new government mandates in health care that would result in increased costs for Missouri employers, taxpayers and patients by opposing policies targeting our pharmacy benefits.
