Oppose HB 1265

Lawmakers are considering a proposal, known as HB 1265, that is an unfunded big government mandate that would undermine free market forces in health care. Leaders must reject this misguided bill that would dramatically increase health care costs for hardworking Mississippi families, employers, and taxpayers — and undermine the freedom of Mississippi employers to offer health care benefits that work for them, and their employees.

Lawmakers Need To Oppose HB 1265

Too many Mississippi residents already struggle to afford their health care. HB 1265 would take away cost savings produced by a fair and open pharmacy benefit market that allows businesses to design and deliver affordable, high quality health care coverage – further burdening Mississippi employers, employees, and their families with higher costs and fewer options.

Mississippi small businesses, workers, and their families rely on affordable health care plan options. HB 1265 would ban certain lower-cost pharmacy options in employer health care plans – making it harder for them to grow, compete, and offer high-quality, affordable benefits.

Communities across Mississippi rely on home delivery as a convenient, affordable way to get their prescriptions. HB 1265 would take choices away from patients by barring their employers from covering certain pharmacies, such as those that offer home delivery of prescriptions at a lower cost.

Say NO to big government mandates

Help stop new government overreach in health care – and prevent increased health care costs for Mississippi employers, taxpayers, and patients.

Mississippi businesses should be able to deliver health care coverage and Mississippi residents should be able to afford their health care. Lawmakers should REJECT HB 1265 that would further insert government into health care and hike costs by undermining pharmacy benefits.
