Big Pharma is running the same playbook again — raising prices, spending billions on deceptive ads, and lobbying Congress to interfere with the private market in an effort to boost their own profits. Conservatives around the country are warning that Big Pharma’s agenda will raise costs for families and businesses, undermine free markets, and roll back President Trump’s tremendous progress on lowering health care costs.

Mike Gallagher of The Mike Gallagher Show discusses how Big Pharma uses advertising and mandates to keep costs high:

“Big Pharma and their army of drug company lobbyists are working overtime to keep Americans stuck paying the highest prescription drug prices in the world. Big Pharma has already hiked prices on hundreds of prescription drugs so far this year, while they continue showering us with billions of dollars in misleading ads pushing sales of medications that we may not even need.”

In another episode of The Mark Gallagher Show, former U.S. Congressman Ryan Costello discussed President Trump’s recent actions on drug pricing and the president’s commitment to holding drug companies accountable for making Americans pay higher prices than any other country in the world:

“The fact that the president campaigned on lowering prescription drugs, then he gets into office, he does exactly what he says he does. It’s just another example of the kind of the no-nonsense, get things done approach of the president, which I think most Americans find very refreshing. … Pharmaceutical companies control what the price of their drugs are, and President Trump has said, ‘do not charge other countries less than you’re charging hardworking Americans.’ And I think it’s very logical.”

Costello also underscored how Big Pharma has pushed an agenda in Washington to keep Americans stuck with outrageous prices and blame others to increase their pricing power:

“You have a president who’s going to say no more. And what Big Pharma is looking to do is create more rules to give them more advantages to be able to keep drug prices high. And what President Trump is doing, and what Republicans in Congress, I hope, are going to do… is to make sure that pharmaceutical companies do not continue to get the same sort of advantages that they’ve enjoyed for decades upon decades…Be weary when corporate America is asking the government for more rules and regulations. It has a tendency to create competitive advantages for certain industries and certain companies, and the loser ends up being the American family.”

Hugh Hewitt of The Hugh Hewitt Show recently highlighted the power of Big Pharma’s lobbying machine and urged conservatives to reject the pharmaceutical industry’s self-serving agenda:

“Whenever the government reopens, they’re going to get to the appropriations process. When they get to the appropriations process, Big Pharma is going to ride in like they did during Obamacare, like they did during Covid, and they’re going to ask for billions of your dollars to go to them. We do not want Pharma to get another windfall. We want free markets. We want accountability for the dollars … The government might shut down, but Big Pharma’s lobbyists are camped on the steps of the Congress on the chance that someone shows up there and tries to go to work at their office. They’ll grab them and start asking for money. But we don’t want that to happen again. Big Pharma wants government mandates. They want kickbacks for every reduction in price that they give.”

Former FOX Business anchor Trish Regan, host of The Trish Regan Show, zeroed in on how Big Pharma uses Washington to block competition to increase their own profits:

“Big Pharma pushes government mandates designed to stack the deck in their favor. Their goal in Washington is pretty scary, is pretty simple. They want to escape accountability. They want to block free market competition, and they want to jack up outrageous prices. So this means more government intrusion. What does it mean? Bigger profits for them, of course, and higher costs for families and businesses…It’s important to remember what this Big Pharma agenda is. It sticks Americans and employers with billions of higher premiums and drug costs. I’ll tell you, President Trump’s not backing down.”

Support President Trump’s fight to lower drug prices. Reject Big Pharma’s Big Government agenda in Washington.
