Lawmakers Need To Oppose HB 246

Too many North Carolina patients already struggle to afford their prescription drugs. HB 246 would add a $10 tax on prescriptions filled in the state – further burdening patients with an unnecessary government-mandated prescription drug tax.

Small businesses, workers, and their families rely on affordable health care plan options. HB 246 would increase costs by banning certain lower-cost pharmacy options – making it harder for them to grow, compete, and offer high-quality, affordable health care benefits.

Communities across North Carolina rely on home delivery as a convenient, affordable way to get their prescriptions. HB 246 takes choices away from patients by barring their employers from covering certain pharmacies, such as those that offer home delivery of prescriptions at a lower cost.

Say NO to the $10 Tax

Stop the $10 prescription drug tax – and prevent millions of dollars in increased health care costs for North Carolina employers, taxpayers, and patients.

North Carolina businesses should be able to deliver health care coverage and North Carolina residents should be able to afford their prescription drugs. Lawmakers should NOT pass HB 246 which would take away choices and hike health care costs.
